Founded and built Ingrini, a creative business that evolved from a jewellery brand into Lead in the Clouds a digital art and publishing venture. Developed a diverse portfolio spanning design, branding, photography, digital illustration, and writing.

Successfully launched and published two books:

  • The Honest Unofficial Expat Guide to The Netherlands
  • The Doors of Maastricht

Key Responsibilities & Achievements:

  • Conceptualised and executed branding, design, and marketing strategies.
  • Digital and print artworks, incorporating photography and photo manipulation.
  • Managed all aspects of business operations, including content creation, sales, and online marketing.
  • Designed and curated a personal portfolio reflecting my artistic and professional growth.
  • Developed expertise in storytelling, creative direction, and visual communication.
  • Adapted to market demands, transitioning from jewellery design to digital art and self-publishing.

This journey has strengthened my skills in independent project management, creative problem solving, and entrepreneurial adaptability while deepening my passion for storytelling and visual design.

Working independently has come with its challenges, especially navigating and finding my way in a new country. However, this journey has given me the strength to grow as a professional and refresh my design portfolio. Living in a country where my non highly skilled status has made finding work difficult has been tough, but it hasn’t stopped me. Instead, it pushed me to start my own business and build a portfolio that truly reflects my skills and personality.

Every part has been a labor of love brought to life with passion and dedication. This journey has allowed me to express my creativity while also equipping me with a wide range of new skills, from business management to content creation. I take immense pride in transforming inspiration into art, infusing each piece with unique character and charm. Ingrini is a testament to my commitment to artistic growth, selfexpression, and the power of perseverance.

Above all, this experience has taught me resilience, the ability to adapt, learn and push forward despite challenges. It has shown me that creativity is limitless, and when paired with determination, it can open doors to opportunities I never imagined.

Freelance Graphic Designer

Cape Town, South Africa
Self-Employed

After the liquidation of the previous company, I took the opportunity to redefine my career and venture into freelance design. During this period, my partner and I were also preparing for our move abroad, which led to an exciting new chapter in The Netherlands. This time allowed me to refine my creative skills while working on diverse design projects.

Key Responsibilities & Achievements:

  • Designed print materials such as posters, brochures, logos, packaging and labels.
  • Created digital marketing materials including banners, social media graphics, and branding elements.
  • Developed small to medium-sized websites for weddings, events and businesses, handling both design and layout.
  • Managed projects independently, working closely with clients to bring their vision to life.

This experience strengthened my ability to adapt, work independently, and create high-quality visual solutions across various media platforms.

All About Cape Town

Although my time at All About Cape Town was short-lived, it provided valuable experience working in a startup environment with international investments. Unfortunately, the company closed due to investor withdrawals after unmet targets, largely due to management challenges. Despite this, I had the privilege of working with a talented and diverse team, gaining invaluable professional insights.

Key Responsibilities & Achievements:

  • Designed company logos and brand identity.
  • Sourced and edited images to shape the visual identity of marketing materials.
  • Curated and edited imagery for blog posts.
  • Collaborated closely with the marketing team to ensure all designs effectively communicated the company’s message and brand identity.

All About Cape Town reinforced my ability to adapt to a fast-paced startup environment, work within a team, and develop branding strategies from the ground up.

Graphic Designer & PA to Sole Proprietors

09/2013 - 09/2015
Durbanville, South Africa
Prime Labels & Digital Print

Prime Labels and Digital Print started as a one-woman business with a small label printing machine and grew into a successful printing company, under the leadership of Tanya Lots.

Working closely with Tanya was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career as I witnessed firsthand how dedication and vision can transform a small business into an industry leader. Being part of this growth provided me with invaluable hands-on experience in the printing industry, from design to production.

Key Responsibilities & Achievements:

  • Conceptualised, designed, and executed a wide range of print and digital artworks.
  • Designs for various industries including labels, wine labels, water bottle labels, posters, roll-up banners, vehicle and window vinyl branding.
  • Developed expertise in printing materials (gloss, semi-gloss, matte, uncoated, textured, high-tack, vinyl and clear)
  • Gained in-depth knowledge of colour matching and CMYK values, ensuring accurate print reproduction from screen to final product.
  • Managed and maintained the company website, keeping content up to date.
  • Built and maintained strong client relationships, handling customer inquiries and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Took on administrative and operational responsibilities, including organising the company’s filing system, managing invoices and documents, handling calls, and conducting meetings with new and existing clients.

Working at Prime Labels & Digital Print gave me a deep understanding of the printing and branding process from design conceptualisation to final product execution, as well as the importance of precision, customer service and business growth strategies.
